Magical Mountain Vacations Mary Shannon Moore

Mary Shannon Moore is a mother, author, and successful real estate entrepreneur and broker. Born and raised in Southwest Florida, she has maintained a real estate license for more than 18 years, amassing substantial experience and expertise while buying, selling, and rehabilitating hundreds of properties in her beloved home state. Mary Shannon has also successfully handled marketing for more than 50 reputable builders across Southwest Florida, earning recognition from major outlets including The New York Times, NPR, CNN, Fox Business, and others.

She enjoys exploring new areas of the real estate industry, and attended the 2020 Great American Tiny House Show in Tampa, hoping to gain inspiration for a new AirBnB container home project. While at the show, a large, olive green bus caught her eye. The interior had been beautifully repurposed into a small, functional living space.

Inspiration struck, and Mary Shannon made the mental leap from creating a tiny or container home to designing a bus home, affectionately known as a “skoolie.” She chatted with the bus owners about their experience rehabbing almost 4 dozen buses, and fell in love with the idea of turning a bus into a home away from home. Wasting no time, Mary Shannon immediately began to search for the perfect bus. After weeks of scouring every website and platform, she finally found it - a 1955 double-decker Bristol lodekka originally from Scotland.

After months of negotiating and untangling logistical snarls the bus was successfully purchased and transported to its home in Hayesville, NC to become the first in a line of magic, adventure, and fairy tale-themed vacation rentals designed to delight guests of all ages.
